It’s time once again for another spotlight on one of our local pet rescue groups! This time I want to talk about Florida Dachshund Rescue. As the name implies they are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping neglected and abused dachshunds.
Basically they are a group of people with a love for dachshunds who do many things to help find good loving homes for unwanted and abused dachshunds. They take in dachshunds shelters may not take due to their weak condition and nurse them back to health, among other things.
These dogs are taken care of by volunteers and then put up for adoption when they are ready. You can go to their website below and see what ones are ready or soon will be ready for adoption.
They normally have pictures of the dogs you can see. If your interested in one you can fill out an adoption application and go from there. They often have many to choose from.
If for whatever reason you have a dachshund you need to give up you can contact them and see if they will take it. Again on their website is a form you can fill out as a step toward giving up your pet.
If you want to help out the Florida Dachshund Rescue is always happy for donations of all types. It can be money or food, anything they can use. They also have several special programs like the Ebay giving works program.
You can also be a foster home for their dachshunds and give them a loving home while they wait for someone to adopt them. Their website has all the details on how to do that.
