Cats and fleas,,,,

Well let me kick off the first post in this board! I have a kitty named Spinkie. I never let her outside; I have a screened in patio and she goes out there to get her sun and fresh air. I don't give her anything at all for fleas.

She does not have one single flea on her and has not for years. I know because she sleeps with me on my bed and I'd know it if she had fleas! Am I just lucky or is it because I don't let her out? Or could I live in an area that is bad for fleas??

I reckon you are lucky Bill, I have seen loads of cats that are indoor cats get fleas. Usually this happens because we inadvertently bring the eggs home on our clothing. I knew one guy who didn't even have a pet and his house became flea infested because his boss at work brought flea eggs from his own cat into the office on his clothing. This chap must have picked up a few accidentally and brought them home where they happily hatched out into the carpets and soft furnishings. Of course you could also live in an area where fleas are not in abundance anyway which would add to your luck

Well I guess I'm lucky then. But something tells me the area I'm in is not flea friendly. I'll try to be careful as I use to be in a place with fleas and I don't like them!
