It’s almost time for the 4th annual Pookie’s RescueFest for 2012! This is always a fun event and lots of people show up, so make sure you take time to check it out.
Pookie’s Winter Rescue Fest is an annual event held this year in Maitland, Florida. For the past three years, the festival was held in the parking lot of Pookie’s Pet Nutrition and BowWow Bakery, but due to its amazing success, it has outgrown its former site.
This year’s event will be held at the Maitland Civic Center and at Lake Lily Park. This change of venue allows for lots of animal rescue groups, pet products, live entertainment, and food.
Pookie’s Winter Rescue Fest creatively addresses the widespread problem of unwanted animals. With so many people now unemployed and underemployed, animal abandonment is worse than ever. Many people simply can’t afford to care for their pets any longer.
If you’re in search of a forever furry friend, you won’t be disappointed with the adoption choices and services here. Many dogs and cats, including specific breeds, will be available. Service groups and manufacturers of pet supplies will also be in attendance, offering not only their products, but educational opportunities, as well.
Bring the kids! They’ll love the playground in the park and the special Kids’ Zone. This is going to be loads of fun for all ages, so plan on spending the entire day.
Browse the products, enjoy some great food, visit with the animals, enter raffles and learn a thing or two. You might very well be taking home a new addition to the family, too.
The Rescue Fest will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The site is located between Maitland Avenue and Orlando Avenue, and once you arrive, you can park at the Maitland Civic Center or in one of the nearby marked lots. Proceeds from the event will help support several animal rescue groups in the area.
