Today I wanted to tell you all about a unique 3 day educational outdoor kids event that takes place on Wekiva Island in Longwood, Florida. Called Kids N Kritters it will be held this year July 31st and Aug. 1st and 2nd.
Thinking of sending your kids to summer camp? Millions of children go to camp each year. Here they can learn appropriate risk taking and meet a variety of people. In a camp, your kids will be around positive role models and understand the importance of giving.
Camps provide children with a community of caring adults who can help them develop personal competencies such as leadership, self esteem, self respect, self worth, and self identity. If your child is interested in learning about animals and wildlife, take him or her to the summer camp organized by C.A.T.
Kids N Kritters features three different programs designed for children aged 2 to 12. These education programs take place in Longwood, Florida on July 31, August 1, and August 2 on Wekiva Island.
Your children can go to the camp for one day or for all three days. The program is behavioral, as well as instinctive and intuitive. On July 31, kids can learn about predatory birds such as kites, owls, and hawks.
The class takes place at the Avian Reconditioning Center, which is home to many birds of prey. Children also have access to a unique collection of fossils and rocks that tell the story of saber-toothed cats. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Kids receive free lunch, adults can buy it for $5.00.
On August 1, children are invited to Florida Draft Horse Rescue where they can learn more about draft horses and spend time with them. The camp instructors will teach them about the different types of horses and how to feed them.
As an added bonus, Kids N Kritters grants free access to an animal communication session offered by Jo Maldonado! Your kids will be able to feed the horses, ride them, and learn how to groom them.
In the last day of the camp, children will be canoeing down the Wekiva River with the help of Wekiva State Park Rangers. They can learn useful things about the animals that live in the river and explore its treasures.
All three programs aim to enhance the relationship of people with animals and nature. Children can develop skills that help them grow into successful adults.
