Pookies rescue fest

The Pookie’s 6th Annual Rescue Fest will take place from 10AM to 4PM on January 25, 2014. This is a great opportunity to help pets in need and bring your contribution to a good cause.

The profits will be donated to local non-profit animal rescue groups. If you’re searching for a new family member, there are plenty of dogs who need a loving home. The event brings together pet lovers, dog trainers, veterinarians, pet food manufacturers, and adoptable pets.

Whether you want to adopt a pet or have fun with your four-legged friend, come join The Pookie’s 6th Annual Rescue Fest. The goal of the event is to raise awareness for the pet rescue organizations in Central Florida. It also aims to educate people about the importance of responsible pet ownership. New local pet event, Athletes and Animals July 28th!

There’s not many pet events going on during the summer, due to the heat. We don’t want to make our pets walk around a hot field or dress up on a hot Florida day.

But there are a few that take place inside, and they don’t really require you to bring your pet. One of these is called the Athletes and Animals event, brought to you by a local Stanley Steamer company.

Mark & Connie Gellner, Owners of Stanley Steemer of Central Florida, are active in the local community and they decided to start a fund raising event for two unlikely groups; Special Olympics Florida and The SPCA of Central Florida.

They decided to hold a bowling event that would benefit these two groups last year and it was a great success. So this year they hope the Athletes and Animals event will be even better.

This year it will be held on July 28th. All donations are greatly appreciated and you can come out and have fun without having to be on a team. Go to their website below for lots more information. Thanks! 🙂

National Dog Party Day in Maitland June 21st!

It’s time for another local pet event! This time it’s the National Dog Party Day, which will be held at the Maitland Civic Center at Lake Lily on June 21st. That’s next Friday!

This year DOGS 4 DISABLED VETERANS has been chosen as this year’s benefactor at the National Dog Party Day™ Orlando event. Basically it’s a fun interactive dog event. Because it’s interactive event your encouraged to bring your best friend.

There will be lots of cool games you and your dog can play in, raffles, prizes and more. Plus great food and drinks from Orlando’s mobile food trucks, many pet vendors and more.

Doggy Derby this weekend, Jazzie will be a winner!

I wanted to let everyone know that this weekend, Saturday the 9th will be the Doggy Derby event at Baldwin Park! This year a good friend of mine will be racing her little doggy, and boy is she fast!

My friend Ashley has a tiny toy Schnauzer doggy named Jazzie. A toy Schnauzer is much smaller than a miniature Schnauzer, growing only up to 8 lbs or so. But Jazzie is young and very fast, especially when she knows treats are at the other end of the finish line!

Ashley has registered her lil Jazzie for this years doggy derby. So if you have a small dog your racing too, Jazzie will be one of the doggies you’ll be racing against. She’s been training and no other dog gets to her treats before her!

I will be there too, taking pictures and videos of the races. I’ll be putting some of the videos up on Youtube, so you might just see your own doggy online! So for a fun day, come on out to this years Doggy Derby at Baldwin Park this weekend! 🙂

Pints n Paws Craft Beer Fest is an annual festival that you can share with your beloved pet! This year’s event will offer enjoy free activities and entertainment for the whole family.

The funds raised will be donated to pet rescue organizations. This festival also aims to provide an educational experience to those who want to learn more about craft beer.

Experience the taste of home brewed craft beer and have fun at the 2nd Annual Pints and Paws Craft Beer Festival in Sanford! Guests are encouraged to bring their pets for a fun-filled night. The event features live entertainment and dog contests sponsored by Paw Park Place.

The largest dog show in the U.S. is coming to Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center for two days, Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16, 2012.

This show is fun for the entire family of dog lovers, even if you are not competing in the American Kennel Club (AKC) Agility Invitational, AKC National Obedience Invitational, DockDogs®, or the daytime breed judging of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.

There is a wonderful Canine Shopping Mall for gifts and toys for your furry friends. In addition, you can meet 150 different breeds of dogs at the AKC Meet the Breed® booths.
