2nd annual winter park dog walk

Are you looking for a fun filled event for pet owners? Then you might want to check out the 2nd Annual Winter Park Dog Walk. This event will take place on May 18, 2013 in Orlando.

Participants will receive lots of great prizes, including free microchips for their pets, as well as free snacks and refreshments, free dog toys, T-shirts, and goodie bags filled with toys, coupons and surprises.

The 2nd Annual Winter Park Dog Walk is a special event presented by a local veterinary clinic. The funds raised are going to be donated to the Lost Pets Foundation.

1st Annual Running of the Chihuahuas at Cocina!

Hey everyone, it’s been a very busy spring for me, lots going on. Speaking of what’s going on, I wanted to give you a heads up about another pet event going on real soon.

It’s the 1st Annual Running of the Chihuahuas at Cocina! For those who don’t know, Cocina is a Tex-Mex restaurant and bar located at 151 Welbourne Avenue East, Winter Park, FL 32789.

The event will take place May 4th, Cinco de Mayo weekend. It’s at 10 AM and anyone can register their doggy to be in the race. All proceeds will benefit Florida little dog rescue and Winter Park lost pets foundation.

I’m not really sure just what kind of race it is, how long it is or too much about it really. I just know it sounds like fun! Check out the Cocina website to find out more and be a part of this cool event! :)

10th Annual Pet Adopt-a-Thon in Sanford this weekend

Would you like to have a pet? Are you ready for a new family member? The Seminole County 10th Annual Pet Adopt-A-Thon is your chance to find a loving pet for your family!

This special event will bring together hundreds of dog lovers and rescue groups. Guests will have access to various recreational activities such as dachshund races, agility demonstrations, face painting, canine games, training tips, raffles, and contests with prizes.

This annual event will take place in the parking lot of the Criminal Justice Center in Sanford on Saturday March 9, this weekend. Pets vaccinated against rabies are welcome to attend.

Every dog has its day. Make your pet happy and bring him to the 5th annual fundraiser and adoption day hosted by Pookie’s! In case you want to adopt a pet, this is the best time to do it.

Pookie’s 5th Annual Winter Rescue Fest seeks to promote the adoption of homeless pets and raise awareness. Last year’s event has raised over $12,000, featuring 36 local rescue groups. More than 65 dogs and cats have been adopted by loving families.

Pookie’s Rescue Fest will take place at Lake Lily Park and the Maitland Civic Center January 26th, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Lots of pet lovers and rescue groups will be there to support a great cause.

Winter Park Doggy Derby 2013

Dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages are welcome at the 6th Annual Doggie Derby in Winter Park 2013. This fun event brings pet lovers together to celebrate these loving creatures while helping families and children in need.

Dogs compete with canines of similar size in a 25-yard sprint race. Pets can play in the full, socialize, and compete for prizes. If you don’t have a dog, you can still attend this event. There is no charge for spectators although donations are greatly appreciated.

The 6th Annual Doggie Derby is brought to you by Brightside Events. This non-profit organization hosts special events and donates the funds raised to charities.

Paws for a Cause 2012 in Apopka, Florida

Paws for a Cause 2012

On October 13th and 14th the Apopka Police Department invites everyone to join them for the Fourth Annual Paws for a Cause pet event. The charity raises money for the retirement of police dogs. They cover expenses such as vet care, food and any other necessities they may need.

The event will take place at 3703 West Kelley Park Road in Apopka. Over 25 vendors will be open for your enjoyment from 10am-6pm Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday. Attractions and events include a place for your dog to blow off steam.

The Doggie Fun Area has a complete zone with obstacle course. The new kid’s zone is filled with special Halloween activities such as pumpkin decorating, trick or treating and they can even get their picture made with The Great Pumpkin.

13th annual Winter Park pet Halloween costume contest 2012

Well the good folks at The Doggie Door has finally posted a flyer for this years 13th annual Winter Park pet Halloween costume contest 2012! This year it will be Sunday, October 28th. Corner of Park Ave. and Garfield.

The event will last from 10 AM to 3 PM. There are always a lot of dogs and even a few cats in some of the cutest and unique pet costumes you will ever see. It’s well worth going and seeing all the amazing pet Halloween costumes.

They will have two different contest times. The large dog contest will be held at 11 AM. The small dog contest will be held at 1 PM. Last year they had them inside the parking garage, I assume they will do the same this year.

Barktoberfest is an annual event that celebrates the partnership between Orange County Animal Services and the rescue community. Guests can attend canine demonstrations and vendor fair, play games, and enter contests with prizes.

The event will take place this year on Saturday, September 29 at Lake Eola, Orlando, Florida. Come on out and bring your furry friend for a fun-filled event!

Pet lovers and their canine companions can participate in a Mutt Strut, watch canine demonstrations, eat and drink some great food and beverages, listen to live music, and shop from a variety of merchants. This special event attracts individuals who are interested in pets.
